Translational Bioinformatics for Aging Research

The goal of my research is to apply a diverse set of statistical and bioinformatics approaches to big data sources to make novel discoveries about complex disease. My overall research paradigm consists of the following steps:

(1) Discovery of a clinical association using rigorous epidemiological methods

(2) Systematic multiomic analysis of human epidemiologic studies to discover associated molecular determinants and
mechanisms

(3) Cultivating collaborations with basic science and clinical researchers to validate discovered mechanisms using animal or in vitro models or prospective clinical studies
